Bhopal : Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said here Monday that the power situation in the state was much better than in many parts of the country.
“We have been able to supply power in a better way than other states of the country, and the state government is making all out efforts to tide over the existing power crisis,” claimed Chouhan here.
Inaugurating a seminar on ‘Generation of power with biomass and other alternative resources’ organised by Madhya Pradesh Energy Development Corporation with the cooperation of UNDP, Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh was also making efforts for utmost utilisation of non-conventional energy sources.
“We believe in tapping and not exploiting the nature,” Chouhan said, adding that the need of the hour was to maintain a balance between tapping of natural sources of energy and increasing demand of power.
Earlier, Chouhan inaugurated an exhibition focusing on the potential of power generation from biomass and other alternative resources.
