Mumbai : Six people died Monday in a major fire that broke out at an industrial estate in south Mumbai.
The fire broke out in Rathiwala industrial estate behind the Jijamata Udyan zoo in Byculla due to a short circuit, fire officials said.
Six severely injured people were rushed to a nearby hospital, where they died later.
Within minutes of the fire breaking out, 10 fire brigade vehicles rushed to the site. Around 14 people have been admitted to the government-run J.J. Hospital nearby.
The industrial belt houses several go downs and other industries. The fire brigade is trying to bring the fire under control.
