Chief Justice M.K. Sharma and Justice Reva Khetrapal had issued the notice to the AIIMS in January after 16 doctors approached the court apprehending that their appointments would not be extended on time.

The court asked the AIIMS administration to maintain the status quo till the disposal of the case. The case will be taken up May 5.

Counsel Maninder Singh, appearing for the doctors, said the applicants were being victimised for the last six and a half months by the AIIMS administration. He said the appointment of 107 senior doctors was being kept in abeyance without any valid reasons.
