Lucknow : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati late Wednesday night ordered the removal of an additional chief secretary-rank officer for hosting a fashion show at his official residence here.
Agricultural Production Commissioner Anees Ansari hosted a fashion show by his designer wife, Asma Hussien, at his residence here Wednesday afternoon.
The programme, which included a ramp show, was televised on local channels around 9 p.m.
After the telecast of the show, Mayawati immediately convened a meeting of top officials where the action against Ansari was taken.
Chief Secretary Prashant Mishra said: ” Action against Ansari was taken for violating Service Conduct Rules. He has been attached to appointments department and given a week’s time to explain his actions.”
Uttar Pradesh Social Welfare Commissioner R.K. Mittal has been asked to take charge from Ansari Thursday morning.
