The qualifier to be held March 25-26 will be a 36-hole affair with 67 players from 16 countries having already confirmed their participation.

There will be four berths available for the 137th Open Championship to be held at Royal Birkdale in Britain July 17-20.

Apart from Randhawa, the other Indians are Shiv Kapur, the 2005 Volvo Masters of Asia winner, Rahil Gangjee, the 2004 Volkswagen – Masters, China winner, Digvijay Singh, Amandeep Johl and Gurbaaz Mann.

Of these only Randhawa and Kapur have played at the Open in the past. While Randhawa has three appearances at the only Major held outside the US, Kapur figured in the 2006 edition at Hoylake, Liverpool.

Other top Asians in the fray will be Anthony Kang, Prom Meesawat, Mardan Mamat, Lam Chih-Bing and Unho Park.

Two of the qualifiers for the 2008 Open Championship have already been held at Royal Johannesburg and Kensington, South Africa and The Lakes, Sydney, Australia. Other than the Asian qualifiers in Sentosa, the others will be in TPC Michigan/Dearborn, Michigan, USA and in Europe at Sunningdale, Berkshire, England, both on June 30.
