Eight Die in Attacks in India

New Delhi : Eight persons, including three teenagers, died and others were wounded in three attacks staged by extremist militants in two states of northeast India, authorities confirmed on Tuesday.

Alledge members of the extremist Dima Halam Daogh group detonated a bomb and opened fire at a train station of the remote mountainous district of North Cachar, in Assam state.

In a separate attack in the neighbouring state of Manipur, two teenager girls, 16 and 17 years old, and a 21-year-old boy were shot dead by unknown militants in two separate attacks in the Heirok and Okram Chutheck localities.

In the attack in Assam carried out by the Dima Halam Daogh group, two employees of the train station and a same number of civilians lost their lives.

Authorities have started a mass search for the assaulters.

In another action in Manipur, armed men killed a resident of Okram Chuthek and wounded a taxi driver.
