Jeev finishes tied 26th, Chowrasia 51st in world golf

Doral (Florida) : Jeev Milkha Singh coming back Monday to finish his final round carded a one over 73 to finish tied 26th at the WGC-CA Championship here.

The other Indian in the field, PGTI member S.S.P. Chowrasia shot even par 72 in round four to finish tied 51st.

Australian Geoff Ogilvy (65, 67, 68, 71) won the event with a total of 17-under 271 and broke Tiger Woods’ streak of six wins in a row.

South Africa’s Retief Goosen, American Jim Furyk and Fijian Vijay Singh were tied second at 16 under 272. Last year’s winner Woods was a further stroke behind in fifth position.

Jeev, at one stage as high as fourth in the tournament, had rounds of 68, 70, 70 and 73 totalled seven under 281 for the tournament to be tied 26th. His final round 73 saw him make 15 pars, a birdie on the fourth and bogeys on the sixth and eighth.

Chowrasia (74, 73, 68, 72) finished tied 51st with a total of one under 287. His fourth-round 72 was punctuated by birdies on the first, seventh, eighth, 15th and bogeys on the sixth, ninth, 14th and 18th.

Daniel Chopra (72, 70, 69, 72) ended the tournament in tied 34th at five under 283.
