New Delhi : India’s Arvind Bhat beat Juergen Koch of Austria in straight sets to move into the second round of the 32nd Yonex Polish International badminton championships being played at Warsaw, Poland Thursday.
Arvind, seed seventh, notched up a 21-18, 21-17 win to set up a clash with Vladislav Druzchenko of Ukraine in the second round, said the tournament’s official website.
The ace women’s doubles pair of Jwala Gutta and Shruti Kurian, who has been seeded fourth in the tournament, got a bye in the first round and will play their first match later in the day.
