Sehwag’s double ton guides India to 309 for 1 at tea

Chennai : Virender Sehwag hit a brilliant 218 not out as India piled 309 for one at the tea break, in reply to South Africa’s 540, in the first innings on the third day of the first Test match at the M.A. Chidambaram stadium here Friday.

Overnight batsman Wasim Jaffer made 73 while Rahul Dravid was batting on 10. It was Sehwag’s fourth double hundred and highest score at home.
