Indian stocks open in the red

Mumbai : The Indian equities market opened in the red Monday, tracking its Asian peers.

The 30-share benchmark sensitive index of Bombay Stock Exchange opened with a cut of 252 points at 16,226.66.

The S&P Nifty of National Stock Exchange opened at 4,884.40 points with a cut of 58 from its previous close.

Other Asian markets were trading mixed. Taiwan’s Taiwan Weighted was trading at 8,522.43 down 71.05 points. Japan’s Nikkei slid by 304.64 points to 12,515.83.
