Dhaka : Bangladeshi police rescued six children from Sadipur border with India in Jessore district, 140 km southwest of capital Dhaka, Friday morning while they were being trafficked to India.
The six rescued children are from different districts in Bangladesh with ages between seven and 12.
Police were quoted by private news agency UNB as saying a gang of human traffickers brought the children to southwestern Khulna district from Dhaka on Tuesday and later took them to the border by a train promising them good jobs in India.
But when the traffickers along with them were passing the check post area, the children cried out for help when seeing the police. Sensing danger the traffickers fled the scene leaving the children behind.
