Mohali : Kings XI Punjab scored a competitive 178 for the loss of six wickets against Kolkata Knight Riders in an Indian Premier League (IPL) match at the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) Stadium here Saturday night.
Opener Shaun Marsh was the top scorer for Kings XI with 40 off 32 balls. Except for Karan Goel, all Kings XI batsmen scored double figures with leg-spinner Piyush Chawla scoring a quick fire 21 off seven balls late in the innings to help the hosts set up a challenging target before the Knight Riders.
For the visitors, Pakistani Umar Gul (27/2) was the pick of the bowlers, while Ashok Dinda (24/1), Mohammad Hafeez (28/1) and Davis Hussey (23/1) were the other wicket-takers.
