All the students of government schools are to be imparted training for physical fitness as well as martial arts like judo and taekwondo (Korean karate) to enable them to defend themselves. In this context, this orientation programme is being organised for orientation of training master resource person teachers, Shikshakarmis as well as contractual teachers so that they can properly train school children in physical fitness and martial arts.

The ten-day training programme would be organised at Government Residential Sports Institute, Sehore. Instructions have been issued to all the education officers in this connection. At the same time instructions have been issued to all the joint directors of Directorate of Public Instructions to ensure participation of at least four teachers from every district to the orientation camp.

As per programme two male and as many female trained master resource persons (teachers / Shikshakarmis / contractual teachers) below the age of 40 years from every district would be included in the training session. Like last year, this year also international and national level trainers from various states of the country have been invited to impart training apart from Vishwamitra and Vikarm awardees and international players of the state.

District Education Officers have been asked to ensure that all the four trainees from their respective districts must necessarily reach the programme venue at Sehore by 5 pm on May 16, 2008. They have also been asked to instruct the trainees to bring with them judo/karate kits provided to them last year.

Similarly, they have been asked to make contact with Assistant Commissioners, District Coordinators of Tribal Welfare Department and urge them to ensure presence of master resource persons trained by the department last year at the orientation programme at Sehore. ([email protected])
