Kuwait : The fifth constituency candidate for the parliament elections Fatma Al-Nahham said the Kuwaiti citizens hold a great responsibility in determining a better future for the country.
She added in a symposium held in Al-Fintas area, late on Sunday, at the development center, the candidates’ responsibility lies in choosing the efficient candidate who is capable of working for the best of the country.
Al-Nahham added that the candidates who will reach the parliament should be capable of practicing democracy in its right way, and should be able to work on solving the problems that were neglected due to the continuous political disputes between the parliament and the government. She added, “this will not be fulfilled until dismissal of hypocrites, who only care for their personal benefits, being indifferent towards developing the country and the interests of its people.” She said some candidates work on separating the Kuwait people according to sectarian and social basis, in a way that serves their personal interests, noting that it is natural to be proud of one’s family but not at the expense of the country.
Al-Nahham stressed on importance of having political awareness in the society, where each member of a Kuwait family should choose the capable candidate with no pressure.
She added that the women’s participattion in this democratic practice is considered a great success even if they could not win seats in the parliament in the previous elections.
She said one of her electoral program priorities is giving the Kuwaiti woman, married to a non-Kuwaiti, her civil and social rights, besides providing greater care to people with special needs, as well as offering jobs for new graduates.
