Air India flight from Dubai makes emergency landing

Mumbai : Air India’s Dubai-Pune flight made an emergency landing at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA) here Tuesday afternoon following hydraulic failure.

Airport officials said the Airbus A-320 aircraft landed safely under full emergency measures around 2.49 p.m. All the 39 passengers and the crew aboard flight IC-690 are safe.

“The pilot of the aircraft alerted the air traffic control (ATC) around 2.20 p.m., after he discovered a snag,” an airport official, requesting anonymity, told IANS.

ATC alerted the airport authorities who sounded an emergency and informed the fire and rescue services and other emergency services to meet any eventuality.

The aircraft was towed to the parking bay at 2.55 p.m.

An Air India spokesperson confirmed the incident, but declined to provide details.
