Jaipur : Curfew was lifted in Jaipur Wednesday evening as the city remained calm and no untoward incident was reported a day after seven bomb blasts killed at least 63 people here.
Police authorities had imposed curfew from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in areas under the jurisdiction of the police stations at Lal Kothi, Adarsh Nagar, Transport Nagar, Manak Chowk, Subhash Chowk, Ram Ganj, Galta Gate, Bhatta Basti, Kotwali, Nahargarh, Sanjay Circle, Jalu Pura and Sadar.
Inspector General of Rajasthan Police Pankaj Singh said: “We have imposed curfew in the areas under 13 police stations to maintain law and order.”
During curfew only those holding funerals for their loved ones who died in the blasts were allowed to move about.
There will be no prohibitory orders at night, the authorities said.
