Al-Zahar was speaking at the opening ceremony of the conference to revive al-Nakba, or the catastrophe, an expression the Palestinians use for the establishment of the state of Israel in 1948.

“Israel is going to disappear one day and the Palestinian people will remain to fully liberate all their occupied lands,” he said.

The conference in Gaza, which is called “sixty years for the Nakba and the return is coming,” coincides with the Israeli celebration of its 60th anniversary.

“We bring good news that the day of liberation and return is coming because we are good readers of reality. And the powers of wars and destruction can not terrify us,” al-Zahar stated.

Israel, the United States and Europe are listing Hamas movement among the world’s terrorist organizations. The movement which took control of Gaza last summer refuses to recognize Israel or to condemn violence.

“On the occasion of the Nakba we reiterate that we will never recognize the raping enemy, we will never recognize Israel,” shouted al-Zahar amid the attendants’ cheering.

He added that “our lands are not for sale or for trade, and the right of resistance is holy. We will struggle by culture, by industry, by gun and by rocket.”
