Dhaka : With 2 more people died in hospital, the death toll from Wednesday’s train accident in Bangladesh rose to 10, private television station Channel I reported in its evening bulletin.
Eight people were killed and about 30 injured after two trains collided at around 1 a.m. on Wednesday in Bangladesh’s Brahmanbaria district, 80 km northeast of the capital Dhaka.
A Sylhet (northeastern city)-bound train from Dhaka rammed into another train standing at the station, leaving six of the stationary train’s passengers dead on the spot and dozens injured.
Of the injured, two died shortly after being sent to hospital.
A railway inquiry team from Dhaka is investigating the accident.
