Tehran : Iranian archeologists are slated to start a new phase of excavations at the historical site of Bisotun located in Kermanshah Province.

Experts from Iran’s Archeology Research Center will excavate Bisotun’s water mill along with the Sassanid Khosrow Palace.

“Bisotun has many ancient sites which have not been excavated yet and can provide valuable information about Iran’s past,” Director of the Bisotun Archeology Center, Davoud Daneshian was quoted by press tv as saying.

Bisotun, which has been under excavation since 1971, was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2006.
