CBSE results: 80 percent pass Class 12 in north India

Chandigarh, May 21 (IANS) Girls outshined boys in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 12 results declared Wednesday in four northern states and one union territory that saw an overall pass percentage of 80.80 percent.

The results of over 90,000 students from Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Chandigarh were declared, said CBSE officials at the regional headquarters at Panchkula.

While nearly 86 percent of girl students cleared the examination, the pass percentage among boys was 77 percent.

Government and private schools attained a pass percentage of over 80 percent. Kendriya Vidyalaya and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya schools had a pass percentage of over 91 percent.
