Raman Singh to address 1,200 meetings in month-long drive

Raipur : Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh will address 1,200 public meetings in a six-phased `vikas yatra’ to be launched May 23 from the Maoist hotbed Dantewada by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader L.K. Advani.

Singh, heading the BJP government in the state since December 2003, described the tour as a “warm up to assembly polls due in November”. He will visit all the 90 assembly seats and address at least a dozen public meetings in each segment.

“As a chief minister, I want to hold a direct dialogue with the people to know their views about my government,” he said.
