Girls outshine boys in CBSE Class 12 exams

New Delhi : Girls once again outshone boys in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 12 exams, in which the overall pass percentage was 80.91 percent.

The pass percentage this year is an increase of 0.27 percent from last year.

CBSE chairperson Ashok Ganguly told reporters: “The total pass percentage of girls in CBSE Class 12 exams this year is 85.44, while that of boys is 77.59. Girls, as usual, have outshone the boys in this year’s performance too.”

This year, 549,344 candidates registered for the CBSE Class 12 board exams in India as well as abroad – an increase of 9.18 percent since last year.

In Delhi alone, 160,414 students had appeared for the exams.

All over India, 8,252 students scored 90 percent and above in the exams. Of this 384 have scored more than 95 percent.
