Fort Worth (Texas) : Daniel Chopra hauled himself up from a poor opening round with a second round two-under 70 that kept his hopes alive for the weekend in the Crowne Plaza Invitational at the Colonial.
Chopra, a Swedish of Indian origin, whose win at the start of the year assures him of a PGA card for next two seasons, had four birdies against two bogeys in his 68 that saw him move up from 94th to tied 52nd at the halfway stage here Friday.
Southpaw Phil Mickelson escaping from the bunkers with an amazing six saves carded a two-under 68 that saw him total seven-under 133 for a the lead at midway stage. He also putted beautifully needing just 25 for the day.
Mickelson leads Matt Kuchar (64), Brian Gay 965) and Johnson Wagner (71) by one shot.
