Tehran : Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Saeid Jalili said here Sunday that Iran’s proposed package over its nuclear issue created a good chance for logical dialogue for global peace and security, official IRNA news agency reported.
Iran’s proposed package, which is based on collective efforts to urge cooperation in political, security and economic issues at the regional and international level, has been welcomed worldwide as a positive step on the nuclear issue, Jalili said in a meeting with Japanese Deputy Foreign Minister Kenichiro Sasae in Tehran.
One of the important aspects of the package is to seek global efforts for nuclear disarmament, he said, adding that Japan is a victim of nuclear weapons and its support for the package would be very valuable.
Iran has always been making all its efforts to help restore peace in the region and around the world, he said.
Kenichiro Sasae said Iran’s proposed package indicates the country’s goodwill for international cooperation that would be regarded as a good base to initiate talks.
