New Delhi: Following the revelations made in the Sachar Committee Report about education of the Muslim community in India, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH), country’s one of the most influential religious organizations, has decided to set up a network of schools across the country.
The decision to the effect was taken to make more and more Muslim children educated. Of 1,000 schools, 20 will be established in western Uttar Pradesh. Talking to TwoCircles.net, Muhammad Ahmed, JIH West UP president said the sanctioned schools will be opened this year. JIH will also open degree colleges. Ahmed said JIH has purchased a land in Meerut for a degree college and construction work has also begun.
The Sachar Committee Report has revealed that the highest dropout rate is among the Muslim community. Compared to other communities, lesser Muslims are educated. JIH is already running several schools across the country.
