Malappuram (Kerala) : A businessman who the police said was trying to sell guns illegally brought into India was arrested Monday and three weapons were seized from him.
Police said they arrested E.P. Nooruddin at Perinthalmanna, around 50 km from here.
“He was arrested following information that he is trying sell guns. We have recovered a revolver from him. A pistol and a pen gun were recovered following information provided by him,” a police official told IANS.
Nooruddin reportedly owns a textile shop in Perinthalmanna. The police suspect that he smuggled the guns from the Middle East.
