Sohail Tanvir takes 20 wickets in IPL

Jaipur : Sohail Tanvir became the first bowler to take 20 wickets in the Indian Premier league during Rajasthan Royals’ five-wicket victory against Mumbai Indians here Monday.

Tanvir has 21 wickets at 10.00 runs apiece.

# Tanvir (4/14) became the first bowler to take four wickets or more in an innings twice in the IPL. His 6 for 14 vs. Chennai at Jaipur on May 4 is the best of the tournament.

# Tanvir got his second Man of the Match award.

# Sanath Jayasuriya and Sachin Tendulkar posted their third 70-plus partnership (71) for the first wicket in the IPL – their highest being 82 vs Chennai Super Kings at Wankhede Stadium on May 14.

# Jayasuriya, with his 38 off 37 balls, took his tally to 460 – the third best tally in the IPL, after Gautam Gambhir (523) and Shaun Marsh (478).

# Jayasuriya completed his 800 runs in Twenty20 – 803 at an average of 34.91, including one century and four fifties in 27 games.

# Tendulkar’s 30 off 34 balls is his second best score in the IPL, next only to his 65 off 46 balls against Kings XI at Wankhede Stadium on May 21.

# Shaun Pollock recorded his second duck in the IPL.

# Yogesh Takawale, with Asnodkar’s catch, completed his 10th dismissal – 9 catches and 1 stumping – in 6 games. He thus equalled Wriddhiman Saha’s tally of ten dismissals – 8 catches + 2 stumpings – in 12 matches.

# Patel (40 off 29 balls) posted his highest score in the IPL.

# Rajasthan Royals became the first side to register 11 wins in the IPL.

# Thanks to Rajasthan Royals’ five-wicket win, Delhi Daredevils have reached the semi-finals.

# Jadeja and Patel put on 69 runs, a record for the sixth wicket for Rajasthan Royals.
