Gujjar stir hits more trains

Ahmedabad : A number of long-distance trains passing through Rajasthan were cancelled and many were diverted Tuesday as the Gujjar community, demanding Scheduled Tribe status, continued to block railway tracks at many places in the state.

The trains cancelled are Nizamuddin-Ahmedabad Sampark Kranti Express, Ahmedabad-Asansol Express, Mumbai Central-Nizamuddin August Kranti Rajdhani Express, Bandra-Nizamuddin Garib Rath, Bandra-Gorakhpur Awadh Express, Bandra-Dehradun Express, and Mumbai Central-Firozpur express, the Western Railway said in a release here.

The trains diverted via the Nagda-Ujjain-Bhopal route are Jamnagar-Jammu Tawi Express, Mumbai Central-New Delhi Rajdhani Express, Bandra-Amritsar Pashchim Express, Mumbai Central-Amritsar Golden Temple Express, New Delhi-Mumbai Central Rajdhani Express, Amritsar-Bandra Pashchim Express, Amritsar-Mumbai Central Golden Temple Express, and Jammu Tawi-Bandra Swaraj Express.
