Beirut : Fresh polemics and clashes among the leading political forces killed the fragile truce that Lebanon enjoyed from Saturday.
Michel Pharaoun, leader for Legislative Affaire, accused Hassan Nasrallah, head of the Party of God (Hizballah), of eluding the disarmament dialogue.
The media charges the later of Monday’s tensions that followed his address that called Hizballah disarmament taboo, leading hours later to clashes between Shiites and followers of Future Trend of Parliament majority Leader Saad Hariri.
The police says “accidental” shooting during the clashes left 17 wounded, namely in Corniche el Masra, Beirut, and one of 13 missiles shot hit Abdel Nasser Mosque.
The blast was followed by clashes the Army cooled to prevent spread to Barbur and Tarik Yedide neighbourhoods and they fear that surging violence would lead politics to a national crisis similar to last week’s that left 80 dead and 200 wounded.
Despite Monday’s announcement a new premier has not been elected yet the opposition think of Hariri and Prime Minister Fuad Siniora.
