Girls outsmart boys in Madhya Pradesh board exams

Bhopal : A total of 86.12 percent girls have passed Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education’s higher secondary exam, results for which were announced Thursday. The pass percentage of boys, however, remained at 77.93, an official release said.

The number of regular students who appeared in this year’s examination was 322,523. Of them, 81 percent have passed with 1,40,717 obtaining first division, 1,09,939 scoring second division and 9,139 getting third division.

While the pass percentage in government schools, the release said, was 83.83 percent, it was 78.16 percent in private schools.

In all, 53 students figured in the merit list.
