The Minister stressed importance, in a press release on her website, of women’s vital role in Kuwait, particularly in the set-up of the Arab world, hoping that such step would be an example for the region.

The Austrian official also praised women in Kuwait for their extensive experience, liberalism, and open mindedness toward serving the new Kuwait.

The step taken by the Prime Minister does not come as a coincidence, but rather for its
importance and vital role amid future government programs, the statement added.

Plassnik noted as well that the move to elect two women ministers would also push forward women to seek the highest of their potentials and aspirations.

The Austrian Minister visited Kuwait last year where she held meetings with a number of Kuwaiti women activists.
