Terming Kirsten as a ‘fantastic human being’, Ganguly said he knew how to handle players.

“His man management skills are excellent. This is very much needed at this level. They (the cricketers) all love him,” Ganguly told a local Bengali channel.

“He can be both strict and soft. He knows how to handle players,” Ganguly said.

Ganguly said he retired without any regrets. “I am lucky. I am proud at the way I retired”.

“When I announced retirement at the start of the series, my only desire was to finish as a member of the winning team. Now I have no regrets.”

Asked how he remained emotionless during his last series, Ganguly said: “I have never wept in my life.”

On why he took off his shirt at Nagpur Monday, in a replay of the act at Lords after the final of the 2002 Natwest Trophy, Ganguly said: “It was my instinct which made me do it”.
