Don’t criticise other parties, Poojary tells Muraleedharan

By IANS,

Thiruvananthapuram : All India Congress Committee coordinator Janardhan Poojary Thursday asked Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) state president K. Muraleedharan not to “criticise the affairs of another party”.

“Let him say what he wants, and not criticise the affairs of another party and the manner in which it is being run,” Poojary told reporters here.

Muraleedharan has openly criticised the manner in which state Congress president Ramesh Chennithala and leader of opposition Oommen Chandy have been running the Congress party here.

Muraleedharan is son of veteran former Congress chief minister K. Karunakaran. For some time now, he has expressed his desire to return to the fold of the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF).

His decision to move towards the UDF comes after his various attempts to enter the Left Democratic Front failed.

While a section of the Congress leaders who owe allegiance to Karunakaran, who returned to the Congress party last December, have openly said that Muraleedharan’s party should be accommodated in the UDF, Ramesh Chennithala and Oommen Chandy are not keen on this.

“It is the decision of the Congress high command that matters,” said Poojary when asked if he was interested to get Muraleedharan into the UDF fold.
