Islamabad : Seventeen people from the same family were killed when a van plunged into a gorge in Pakistan’s north-western town of Dir on Thursday, DPA quoted media reports as saying.
The vehicle carrying 21 people skidded off the road into the Panjkora river several hundred feet below, the Urdu-language Geo news channel said.
The dead included six women and four children, while four more people were seriously injured.
Geo said the accident occurred when the driver lost control.
