On Eid-ul-Fitr, special Eid kit containing new clothes and Eid food items were distributed among 5000 people. Rs 10 as Eidi each was distributed among 2000 children and Rs 200 each among the affected families.

“While Hindus are celebrating Dussehra festival across the country, thousands of people from the community are living in submerged areas of Bihar without help. So Jamaat has distributed Dussehra kits each among 1000 Hindu brothers so that they could celebrate the festival with happiness,” said a JIH statement.

JIH started relief work among flood-affected people irrespective of cast and creed on the second day of the flood and established 12 relief camps with all facilities of food, medical help and clothing in which three thousand flood victims are living.

A central team of the organization headed by its vice president Prof. Siddique Hassan and secretary Ejaz Ahmad Aslam along with doctors and workers made a 5-day intensive tour of the flood devastated districts in the first week of September.

In the holy month of Ramadhan JIH managed public Iftar at 71 mosques and on an average around 1100 persons benefited from it daily. Its workers reached the areas where no government or non-government aid had reached and distributed 10 tons of rice among 200 families.

Now, four medical vans are running in Araria, Madhepura and Supaul and thousands of people are benefiting from them.

Recently a JIH delegation visited a relief camp where several people from the minority community had complained of police’s aggression. The delegation later met Chief Minister Nitish Kumaro and apprised him of the situation and presented a memorandum. The CM has ordered suspension of five policemen and promised inquiry into the incidence.
