Cross LoC trade: JKTMC launches website to strengthen Indo-PaK business relations

Suchetgarh (RS Pura) : The chamber of commerce of both Indian administered Jammu and Kashmir (IAK) and Pakistan administered Kashmir (PaK) who formed a common chamber of commerce and named it as Jammu and Kashmir Traders and Manufactures Cooperative Limited launched a website.

The website www.jkctm.com was launched today at International Border near RS Pura which according to the members will help both the sides in maintaining business relations and sharing samples of trading goods.

The website has been designed by Ideogram technology solutions, “we designed the website in a very less period and same was launched by the president of both the sides at Suchetgarh sector of International Border at around 5 PM”, Rahul Pandit Director Ideogram Technology Solution told NAK.

PaK chamber president Zulfiqar Abbassi launch the website by entering the URL at Zero line along IB. “this is for the first time in last 63 years that a website is launched on International Border” Rahul Pandit told News Agency of Kashmir.

The function besides others was attended by Deputy Inspector General of BSF, Deputy Commissioner Jammu Mandeep K Bhandari, Ex MLA Gharu Ram, and the members of both sides. SDM RS Pura later presented vote of thanks.

Ram Sahai in his address said that both the governments would be requested to open Suchetgarh-Sailkote road so as to ease the trade links and the people of Jammu would also exchange their business with the other side of the IB.

Briefing about the aims and objectives of ‘Joint cooperative traders and manufactures of both the sides will be as under.

“To organize the business under cooperative under standing on voluntary basis to meet their common economic, needs and aspiration through this jointly owned and democratically controlled enterprises, later on to be called as J&K Chamber of Traders and Manufacturers Cooperative Ltd”, he said adding to create a sense of awareness among its members for the promotion of Trade, Industry and Export so as to
boost the economy of the State.

This Cooperative has been created with limited liability of the members of the cooperative as per section 2(12) of the J&K self reliant Cooperative Act 1999, besides to explore the opportunities for trading of goods and negotiate Import and Trading deals for export of various items from the State to any part of the World.

Joint seminars, Conferences, Interactions and meetings for boosting the economy of the state would be organized in near future in collaboration or arrangement franchise from any of the reputed organizations located in any part of the world.

“To make arrangements so as to give training to the socially weaker sections in the management, Science and Computer Technology and to Purchase and acquire land and building, raise construction for the office and to accommodate the business organizations.

The Joint traders cooperative will assist and cooperate with such other business organizations at all level including the national and international level who prescribe to the aims and objectives of the cooperative and funds, collect donations and contributions, to make borrowing so as to further achieve the objectives of the cooperative would be appreciated.

The joint cooperative would manage transfer or pledge the properties of the cooperative with a view to achieve the objectives and to open and operate the bank accounts and to perform all such acts needs necessary and appropriate for the achieving of the objectives of the cooperative.

Consultancy to various parties on banking, finance and foreign Trade for establishment of an Export & Import House would be provided.

Jammu and Kashmir traders and manufactures will establish Quality Control Cell for various products manufactured & produced in the state & provide expert advice to interested domestic and foreign Buyers.

Besides other promoters of the website the prominent are Ram Sahai of 6/7 Trikuta Nagar, Jammu, Ali Mohd. Watali of 27-Gupkar Road, Srinagar Kashmir, Sh. Davinder Kakkar of 6/7 Trikuta Nagar, Jammu, Mohd Rafiq Parray of Batote Distt Doda, Jammu, Mushtaq Ahmed Sofi of Handwara District Kupwara and Ghulam Rasool Wani of Kachwari Handwara District Kupwara.
