Islamabad : The Islamabad High Court will hear on Tuesday a writ petition seeking immediate halt to ongoing operations and improvement of security situation in Swat, Bajaur and Waziristan Agencies.
The Registrar office said the writ petition would be heard under objection.
The petition filed by a resident of Swat alleged that thousands of people in these areas had been displaced.
It says people in those areas were also facing acute food and water shortage, besides lack of proper medical facilities.
The petitioner has prayed to the court to direct the Federal Government to immediately wind up the operations.
Meanwhile the ruling party in the Northwest Frontier Province Monday expressed reservations over the ongoing military offensive and said that the bombing is causing more deaths of civilians than the militants.
President of Awami National Party Afrasiab Khattak in the province said that the army should re-consider the use of force which kills civilians.
