PNA to lodge complaint to UN to deter Israeli settlers’ attacks

By Xinhua,

Ramallah : The Palestinian National Authority (PNA) on Tuesday decided to lodge a complaint to the UN Security Council against Israeli settlers’ attacks against the Palestinians in the West Bank and Jerusalem.

The decision was made during a meeting for the executive committee of the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) in Ramallah.

“The continued attacks against the Islamic sacred places by settlers protecting by the Israeli army aim at sabotaging all chances for peace,” the decision-making body of the PLO said.

The PLO also condemned settlers’ attacks against Palestinian farmers who harvest olive across the West Bank.

“We decided to raise urgent and decisive complaint to the UN Security Council to draw the attention of the international community to those racist and occupation crimes,” according to the executive committee.

“This is also to stress the demand for international protection for the Palestinians,” it added.

Meanwhile, the PLO said peace talks with Israel “did not achieve any progress in the current phase,” blaming the Israeli side for the delay.

As a new cabinet is being formed in Israel, the PLO said it will continue the negotiations with any new government “from the point the talks stopped at.”
