Mumbai : The Anil Ambani-promoted Reliance Communications has joined hands with IT major Acer, Asus, HCL, Intel and Lenovo to offer laptops with free Reliance data cards, said a top official.
“The growth of Internet services in India is one of the key visions of Reliance Communications. The next phase of growth of Internet penetration in the country is linked to the growth in PC and Laptop penetration by making the overall cost of Internet access more affordable,” RCOM president Mahesh Prasad told reporters here Tuesday.
The scheme will enable customers to get laptops powered by Intel’s “Atom” with monthly instalment as low as Rs.1,500 to Rs.2500 per month for two years with unlimited internet access.
According to the release issued by the company Reliance NetConnect, wireless internet service has over one million customers across 20,000 towns and 450,000 Indian villages.
