Complaint filed against Goa minister’s kin in German girl rape

By IANS,

Panaji : A formal complaint was filed Friday against Warren Alemao, nephew of Goa Public Works Department (PWD) minister Churchill Alemao, by the mother of the minor German girl who has charged the state education minister’s son with raping her daughter.

Warren has rubbished allegations made by the mother, claiming that he had not even met the minor girl.

The mother, in her complaint, says that Warren not only knows the girl, but also came to meet her at a hospital where she was admitted.

“He (Warren) came with his elder brother Regan carrying a pizza along with him. This was between Sept 17 and 23 this year,” the mother has claimed in the complaint.

Her counsel Aires Rodrigues, who accompanied her to the Superintendent of Police (North) Bosco George’s office, told mediapersons that the victim was given a mobile phone by unknown people.

“We have asked the police to investigate all the incoming and outgoing calls from that number,” Aires said.

He also said that the mother has also given the police the details of a woman, Padmini Batra, who has been allegedly pressurising the victim not to give a statement or undergo a medical examination.

“She (rape victim’s mother) has also handed over to the police the text details of nine other obscene SMSs received by her minor daughter from various other mobile numbers,” said Aires, adding he had telephonically briefed the German Consul General at Mumbai, Walter Stechel, about the case details.

The police have failed to track down 21-year-old Rohit Monserrate, state education minister’s son who has been on the run ever since the complaint against him was filed for raping the German girl.

The police, who delayed the registration of the complaint by 12 days, have also booked Education Minister Atanasio Monserrate as a co-accused in the case.
