Raza Rabbani said that missile raids by the American drones are insult to the Pakistani parliament which recently held a two-week debate over the security situation.

A Jamaat-e-Islami senator Prof. Khurshid Ahmed moved a motion to invite attention of the House to the Thursday attack on a religious seminary in North Waziristan tribal region.

Senator Khurshid of Jamaat-e-Islami asked the government to allow the army to retaliate if the US army violates frontiers.

Rabbani said that the US administration had assured Pakistani PM Gilani during his visit to Washington to respect the country’s sovereignty and that there would be no attack in future in Pakistani territories.

The US fired missile hours after the Pakistani parliament passed a resolution to defend the country’s sovereignty and asked the government to take steps.

Rabbani said the Foreign Ministry is collecting details of damages caused by US missile strikes in the Pakistani territories.

He recalled that the parliament had declared in the resolution that Pakistani forces will continue offensives against the militants and foreign forces are not allowed to operate.

Senator from opposition PML-Q party, Nisar Memon urged the government to lodge protest against the US raids and to summon the American envoy to the Foreign Ministry for protest.

Another PML-Q senator Tariq Azeem said that the Speaker National Assembly should have cancelled her meeting with the US ambassador as a protest.

He asked the government to stop US interference in Pakistan’s internal affairs saying that despite American announcements about no attack, they are carrying out attacks.

Around 80 people, including woken and children, have been killed in US missile strikes in the tribal regions this month.
