Amritsar : A Punjab police constable was Monday suspended after he allegedly fired at a cobbler here following an argument.
The cobbler, Nand Lal, was injured in his leg and was admitted to a government hospital here.
While the cobbler told the police that the constable fired at him after an argument, the police maintained that the weapon went off accidentally as the constable was trying to control heavy traffic.
Kotwali police station in-charge Vikram Sharma also maintained that the firing was accidental.
