Karachi : Intikhab Alam, the former Pakistan captain who will take over from Geoff Lawson as the new national cricket coach, will meet Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ijaz Butt next week Monday to discuss the terms and conditions of his contract.
A senior PCB official told IANS Wednesday that Butt will discuss the financial package and other perks apart from the duration of the contract with Alam, who was last week named as the new Pakistan coach.
The meeting will take place at the Board headquarters in Lahore soon after the return of the PCB chairman from a personal visit.
Once Butt and Intikhab agree on the terms and conditions, the contract will be submitted to the PCB Governing Board for its approval.
The PCB sacked former Aussie Test pacer Geoff Lawson over poor results last week and chose Alam as the new coach ahead of Pakistan’s three-match One-day International series against the West Indies in Abu Dhabi from Nov 12-16.
Initkhab, 66, has served as Pakistan coach in the past and was the manager of the team that won the 1992 World Cup in Australia.
