Chandigarh : Union Minister of Science and Technology Kapil Sibal Thursday emphasized the need for a special bill in parliament offering special incentives and benefits for scientists pursuing research work.
“We have plenty of talent in our country and we just need to promote and channel that talent in the right direction. We are planning to draft a bill offering special benefits to individuals and scientists who are involved in research work,” Sibal told reporters here.
Sibal was in the city to preside over the foundation day of the Central Scientific Instruments Organization (CSIO). Earlier in the day, he also inaugurated the centre of emerging areas in science and technology at the Panjab University here.
Praising the scientist community for their successful project, Chandrayan, India’s first mission to moon, Sibal said: “Our scientists have shown to the world that India is second to no other country in space technology. It is just the beginning and we are destined to achieve many more milestones in space technology.”
