Chennai : Two-wheeler major TVS Motor Co Ltd’s net profit in the quarter ended Sep 30 this year dipped to Rs.104 million from Rs.119 million a year earlier, the company announced Thursday.
However, the net sales of the company during the period rose to Rs.10.15 billion from Rs.8.23 billion in the second quarter last fiscal.
During the July-September period, the company sold 181,000 motorcycles and 77,000 scooters against 144,000 and 76,000 units respectively in the corresponding quarter last year, TVS said in a statement.
The company has posted Rs.174 million net profit in the first six months of 2008-09, compared to Rs.194 million in the year-ago period.
The net sales in the first six months stood at Rs.19.26 billion, up from from Rs.16.06 billion in the first half last fiscal.
