Procter and Gamble net jumps 83.72 percent

New Delhi : Personal care and healthcare major Procter and Gamble has recorded a 83.72 percent profit in the second quarter of the ongoing January-December accounting year, as compared to that posted in the corresponding period last year, the company said Monday.

During the quarter, the profit of the company rose 83.72 percent to Rs.232.4 million from Rs.126.5 million in the corresponding quarter of the previous year, an official statement said.

The company reported earnings of Rs.7.20 a share during the quarter, registering a 84.62 percent growth over the corresponding period last year.

Net sales for the quarter rose 19.34 percent to Rs.1,508.3 million, while total income for the quarter rose 19.35 percent to Rs.1,551.2 million, as compared to the corresponding period the previous year.

The board of directors Aug 29 recommended a final dividend of Rs.20 a share for the financial year ending June 30, the statement added.
