Himachal allots land for new generation technology park

Shimla : The Himachal Pradesh government has allotted a plot in Solan district for developing the country’s first integrated nanotechnology and biomedicine technology park, an official statement said Tuesday.

The park, expected to attract more than Rs.20 billion ($500 million) in investment, will be developed by the central government’s department of science and technology in collaboration with US-based Nanobiosym (NBS) Inc.

“The land measuring 400 acres has been allotted to the park at Aduwal village near Nalagarh in Solan district,” said the statement.

The project will be completed in 10 years in three phases.

Once developed, the park is expected to would open new avenues in nano technologies.

“The proposed park is eco-friendly and the state government is taking steps to improve infrastructure to help make industries more competitive,” the statement added.
