Colombo, Sri Lanka : The Sri Lankan military says a Tamil Tiger attack on a military complex in the north killed 11 troops, one civilian and 10 rebels.
Military spokesman Brig. Udaya Nanayakkara says the rebels attack the complex in Vavuniya early Tuesday with artillery, a ground assault and an air strike by the rebels’ rudimentary air force.
The military says it chased away the planes and shot one of them down. The military says troops killed 10 of the guerrillas who had attacked the complex, according to a report of the Associated Press.
