London : BBC’s Asian programmes head Gurdip Bhangoo is leaving for India as head of programming for Sony Entertainment Television in the country.
Bhangoo, 37, was till now heading the BBC’s Asian Programmes Unit (APU), which in the last 40 years has established itself as the prime producer of programmes related to the Asian diaspora in Britain as well as focusing on issues in South Asia.
On his new job, Bhangoo told the AsiansinMedia website: “I was impressed with the channel and have the ambition to grow it further with innovative programming that taps into both India and the wider global Asian diaspora.”
