Kabul : A roadside bomb struck a police vehicle Thursday morning in Ghazni city of central Afghanistan’s Ghazni province, wounding seven civilians, said a government spokesman.
Sayed Asmail Jahangir, provincial administration spokesman, told Xinhua that it occurred at around 9 a.m. (0430 GMT) when the targeted police vehicle passed through one street in Ghazni city and was hit by the IEDs (Improvised Explosive Device) planted by militants in advance.
“Explosion wounded at least seven civilians nearby, but caused no casualties on police forces,” he said.
No one or individuals have yet to claim responsibility but Taliban militants fighting against government interests often carried out similar attacks on Afghan and international troops since being driven out of power in 2001.
Conflicts and spiraling insurgency have claimed the lives of over 3,700 people with more than 800 civilians, so far this year.
